Has anyone here ever seen any original Hyperpak insignia as it came from factory? Wondering if it had its own typeface/font like most mopar models and package variants. Looking for anything, even if it was just something printed in a brochure or promotional material. Separate question: On the Valiant logo (the double sided blue/red solid V inside a circle) - I have noticed plenty of parts that claim NOS and some have a pretty rich shade of blue and some have more of a confederate blue/grey. I used to run a letterpress, one of the base colors used for mixing is called Reflex Blue, in printing world it is known as a fugitive color, that is it will actually disappear over time (not rapidly, but it does). I am wondering if there is a definitive answer as to if there were multiple shades of blue used or if what I am seeing in some instances is the color fleeting - especially noticeable on grill emblems that side can end up pretty much white even if the red is still well in tact. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick |

Hyperpack press photos and the Nascar photos just show "Valiant" stickers on the air cleaner and valve cover. I suppose you could use that font, or the "Charger" font from the 60's air cleaner stickers, if you wanted to make your own emblem. As far as the Valiant insignia, check out horn buttons. They don't seem to fade out like the external ones. The colors may be slightly different since they are on plastic, but it should give you an idea. |

There was no Hyper Pak emblem, nameplate, decal, or other callout. See here for applicable decals. Blue used on half the Valiant V emblem varies: lighter on exterior emblems, darker on the '62-'65 horn button cap. Lighter and less red than Reflex Blue in all cases. Close to Process Blue in most cases. Confederate blue-grey = faded over the years; they weren't that way originally (though grey was used in lieu of blue in some of the earliest Valiant brochures and ads—not on the cars themselves). When restoring the painted emblems on the trunk lid, grille badge, etc, Plasti-Kote's Chrysler Blue and Universal Red are conveniently close matches to the original in a high-quality, durable paint product. |

Thanks for all the info all! I thought the Hyperpak was a factory option, that was part of the stipulation of running them in their race category, no? Surely if it were somewhere there had to be promotional material for it I would think.. Seems as though if that does exist finding it might be impossible. Thanks for all the info Dan, hopefully the alu block you sold me will be up and running this coming summer. I am curious to know what printing techniques and materials you used for the decal replication. If it is a digital print was your source art vector based? Thanks Nick |

Made and offered by the factory—sold only over the dealer parts counter. I gave close photos of old originals to my husband, who is an accomplished graphic designer and typographer. So he was able to identify and match the fonts, recreate elements like the Valiant stylised-V logo, and "digitally remaster" the decals for sendoff to a job shop specialising in high-temperature/high-durability decals (they aren't homemade). Later on I found my long-lost stash of NOS original Valiant decals, so we were able to compare: as close as can be to an exact match!
