Hi All,

This is the remote oil filter from my RHD Canadian Valiant 200. It works in conjunction with the "Shaven" RHD oil Pump

I have searched the Net for info on this Unit with, other than reference a replacement filter element, very little being found.

In trying to educate myself on this filter and am looking for a schematic of this unit.

It just makes things a bit easier when you dismantle it so you don't get springs, little metal balls or plungers jumping at you, then having to figure out where they go back

Was this unit a Chrysler product that may have been used on one of their other motors or is it a bought in from a third party?

Regards

Tom

Filter housing assembly with lid: Chrysler № 2128 548 (later 2128 876)
Replacement filter element with gaskets: Chrysler № 2129 023

Current-day replacement filter element with gaskets: Wix № 50176

There's one gasket at the lid bolt to the lid, another at the spring to the element, and another at the lid to the can. The can contains a built-in anti-drainback valve which is almost certainly past dead on yours and cannot be serviced.

Or, option "B", ditch the replaceable-element can, install a regular oil filter adaptor nipple on the mount base (the kind that screws into every LHD Slant-6 oil pump's filter mounting pad) and use a spin-on filter—Wix № 51515, for example.
