Hello Everyone!

I was looking for some new motor mounts for my 71 Dodge Dart Swinger with the 225 Slant 6 and I need to pick some brains on what options I might have to get a quality set of motor mounts.

I would love to get the Poly or Poly-Locs motor mounts, but for my car they don't make a complete set, they only carry the Drivers side here: http://polybushings.com/pages/2469.html And I know that is important one, but I like things to match. :)

They do make a complete set for the 1962-66 A-Body passenger cars with the slant six which you can see here: http://polybushings.com/pages/2303-4.html

They also make a complete set for the Spool mounts of 73+ Abodies here: http://polybushings.com/pages/1105.html

My Question:
Is there a way to swap the bolt on engine mount brackets on my 71 dart slant 6 and instead use engine mount brackets from other years/styes of A-Body passenger cars with the slant six?

Even if I swapped the engine brackets for the different ones, would my current stock K-Member I have currently on the car work with the different style of motor mounts?

Any suggestions or ideas on how to make this happen would be great!

Thanks!
Tony

FYI: I did talk with Engine Swaps, and Poly Bushings just to check if they made them for my car before posting this question here. And I had read the FAQ on the motor mounts here: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=47330

I think perhaps the passenger side is same 62-76, and you could just order one of the 62-66 pass side mounts. You could look on Rockauto.com to see if the part numbers match up. Or, maybe someone else here will chime in...

Best,

Lou

One of the many misconceptions that floats around the automotive world is that polyurethane mounts and bushings are 'better' than rubber.

The cool thing about the poly mounts (that I had added the links to in my first post) is they have the interlocking metal inside them. And they look really nice, which is great also.

The Drivers side mount I can get because that mount is used for some of the V8's also. The part number on drivers side is 2265.

The Passenger side is the mount that I so far am unable to find in the poly (matching set). The part number on passenger side is 2264. Which is why I thought I would ask about switching engine mounts. (yeah sounds like alot of work but I am kinda strange, almost OCD with some things) :)

The motor mount images are from this website which can show you different motor mounts and motor mount part numbers: http://www.showmetheparts.com/anchor/
