Doing the super six intake and carb swap and have a couple of questions.
The carb was in rough shape but I am cleaning and rebuilding which required some additional parts I robbed from a Holley 6280 in the junkyard. Some parts were straightforward but two questions:
First-the jets. The carb I have is a R8448 4095918 and it looks like the jets are stamped 255 on the side.
I pulled the jets from the 6280 and they are stamped 175. I can't see those sizes on the chart I am looking at. Which would be better for a /6?

at the bottom of the page.
And how do I decipher the sizes?

Second the float on the original carb is slightly damaged. Can I swap in the float from the 6280? The original is marked 510 and looks like it is 14.5g whereas the 6280 float is marked 516 and looks to be 14.0g. Besides that they are identical.

TIA!

Do you have a photo of the jets?

As far as the float goes, if it fits and doesn't sink, I would just set the float level to spec and call it a day.

Don't think I can get a clear pic with my phone but I will try.
I figured that the float being within ½g should be OK and yes it does fit.
Better than the damaged one.
