| Post subject: | Drag race tech, which fuel line? |
In order to pass tech at most tracks do I need anything special to span from fuel cell to the stock hard line on the car? Can I use regular fuel line, fuel injection hose or do will I need to use braided steel line? |

Looks like braided steel or approved push-lock hose and fittings. No hose clamps. http://promod.nhra.com/userfiles/file/T ... ations.pdf Lines: All non-OEM fuel lines (including gauge and/or data recorder lines) must be metallic, steel braided, or NHRAaccepted “woven or woven-pushlock.” A maximum of 12 inches total (front to rear) of non-metallic or non-steel braided hose is permitted for connection purposes only; individual injector nozzle and motorcycle fuel lines are excluded. Fuel lines (except steel braided lines) in the flywheel/bellhousing area must be enclosed in a 16-inch length of steel tubing, 1/8-inch-minimum wall thickness, securely mounted as a protection against fuel-line rupture. Fuel lines may not be routed in the driveshaft tunnel. It is mandatory that fuel lines passing supercharger drive belts be steel braided, NHRA-accepted woven or woven-pushlock, or be enclosed in protective steel tubing. A current list of NHRAaccepted woven or woven-pushlock fuel lines is available on NHRARacer.com. All NHRA-accepted fuel lines must use ends that are specifically designed for the type of fuel line being used. No hose clamps allowed on NHRA-accepted fuel lines. |

Those look like Promod rules, which are much more restrictive. drgonzo, you are asking about your regular automotive car, aren't you? Same maximum 12" of rubber hose line... Hose clamps should be okay. |

Yes, my 63 dart, street-strip project. I don't mind using braided line or push lock or whatever I just have to figure out how to attach it to the stock 5/16 hard line that is on the car. |

your stock steel fuel line on the car is fine. No more than 12" rubber fuel hose from the line to pump or pump to carb, or fule cell to line, etc. Some tracks' tech scrutineers will dink you if the stock fuel line is run inside the frame rails by the bell housing... but on a stockish car that probably wont matter.
