Anyone with any insight or old Crane catalogs. I am trying to identify the camshaft with the following markings - Crane - F-284, then at the other side of the cam 1294 and a letter E away from those two markings.

Thanks

I'll see what I can find. It is a 284 degree adv duration.

I think the 1294 may be a build date from what I have read.

F-284 has is referenced several times in the old Crane Master Listing I have. I put it on Google Drive.

Came up with some better info.
F-284-2
284 adv dur intake
294 adv dur ex
.453 lift
108 lobe center
.028 intake lash hot
.032 exh last hot
not sure about .050 dur as Crane does not have the masters any longer. But my contact is trying to get more info, and will e-mail me.

Not positive, but I think dual pattern.
As Eric said, he had to "guestimate" some of the specs, as the original info is gone. The only way to be sure of what you have, is to install the cam in mock up engine, and measure the pattern. I do this with every cam I install while degreeing. Just set up like degreeing the cam, and take readings every 5 degrees, or less. Then you can plot the curves.
This takes some time, but is free. The other option, is to send it to a cam company, and let them do it. Theirs will be more accurate.
