You can't use stock 225 rods with 2.2 pistons. You'll end up with about 6:1 compression. You need the 7" 198 ci rods. |

'Zilla's right. The long rod motor, using 2.2 pistons, is the 198 (7") rods, on a 225 crank, with an overbore to match the pistons. Where did you get info to use the 225 rods with 2.2 pistons? Roger |

Ditto what they said. Using flat-top 2.2 pistons on 198 rods, your pistons should end up around 0.020" below the deck surface on an uncut block. Using the other numbers you provided and 0.040" for compressed head gasket thickness in this SCR calculator, that would get you right around 10.5 SCR. (If you're using dished turbo pistons, that adds ~15cc to the chamber and brings you down to ~8.7 SCR). With the 225 rods, the pistons will be more like 0.320" down the hole, giving you an unworkable 6.6 SCR even with flat-top pistons. |
