Finally got her up and running. Tapping valves lead me to do a adjustment (needed it anyway). Short story. When I adjust them they don’t stay in tolerance. Engine is warm. I set them and then it changes either looser or tighter. Is this a bent pushrod or something else? Oh and thanks Dan for the HEI write up and heavy duty charging system upgrade!! |

Doubtful but your adjusting screw threads could be too loose. It's odd for them to tighten, though. |

Info on how to deal with loose adjustors that won't hold an adjustment is in the valve adjustment article. |

Thanks Dan! Got it done. Runs a little rough still but it has been setting for 7 months :/
