Post subject: | Do I need a different oil pan?? |
Hello my /6 brethren, hope ya'all had a good summer wiith lots of /6 adventures. I've finally got to work on mine again (a year later). A question: Where is the best place to store an engine in a crowded garage? Answer:In an engine bay of your car that been sitting empty for 35 years. The engine is a donor, model year 1968 225 ci, going into my 1962 Valiant. (Another ?) do I need to change the oil pan. It appears that the front of the sump will not clear the k member, by a couple of inches. Does that sound about right? (oh yeah another ?) I can't get it all the way back to the firewall due to the LA explosion proof bellhousing hitting the floor tunnel. I am cutting that out, hopefully tomorrow, but was hoping to get a head start on finding an oil pan if I need to change it. (Another ?) anybody got a 1962 oil pan they can get rid of? Guess I need pick up tube as well!!!!!!!! Thanks for any help you can offer Kevan |

An Aspen/Volare pan will also almost fit. A little hammer work in the front left corner and maybe under the drag link in back. Lou |

No. Just the top left one in Mr. Dutra's picture. Aspen volare pans are easier to find. Greg |
