Car Model: 1962 and 1965 Plymouth Valiants
Hello my /6 brethren, hope ya'all had a good summer wiith lots of /6 adventures. I've finally got to work on mine again (a year later). A question: Where is the best place to store an engine in a crowded garage? Answer:In an engine bay of your car that been sitting empty for 35 years. The engine is a donor, model year 1968 225 ci, going into my 1962 Valiant. (Another ?) do I need to change the oil pan. It appears that the front of the sump will not clear the k member, by a couple of inches. Does that sound about right? (oh yeah another ?)
I can't get it all the way back to the firewall due to the LA explosion proof bellhousing hitting the floor tunnel. I am cutting that out, hopefully tomorrow, but was hoping to get a head start on finding an oil pan if I need to change it. (Another ?) anybody got a 1962 oil pan they can get rid of? Guess I need pick up tube as well!!!!!!!!

Thanks for any help you can offer
Kevan

Yes you will need a different pan for that chassis.

An Aspen/Volare pan will also almost fit. A little hammer work in the front left corner and maybe under the drag link in back.

No. Just the top left one in Mr. Dutra's picture.

Aspen volare pans are easier to find.

You will also need the pick up tube and no one makes them any more so you will need to find a used one and clean it up.
