Dear Slant Sixers, Our upcoming banquet to celebrate the 2019 racing season is now scheduled. You do not have to be a current racer to come and commune with the Slanters. Come one, come all! Dates: Evening of Friday Feb 28, Day of Feb 29, Morning of Mar 1, 2020. Main banquet will be early afternoon on Feb 29. Leap Day becomes Slant Day! Location: Valley Forge Inn in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I have reserved the large suite room for the two nights. There will be some bed space and couch space available for anyone who wants to share that big open room at no cost (or if you want to chip in). Regular 2 queen rooms are $68/nt. If we get enough to sign up, we may get a small discount. This is about as cheap as it gets in Pigeon Forge, although I found a few other places nearby for around $50-55/nt. Valley Forge has a pool, if you are into that! We will have the banquet around 2 PM Saturday, then awards, then a business meeting with discussion of possible changes for next year. Gettin some hardware made up! See you on the little pigeon river. Bring any grievances, rules considerations for discussion etc. Awards to be given and recieved as well as setting the racing schedule for 2020. Greg |
