I want to up the power in my Valiant('62 with a 225 and auto), and want to know what are the best bolt ons for these engines? I keep hearing that you cant get a 4 barrel to run good on a stock engine. I want to put a four barrel carb, a Petronix electronic ignition(and a wider advance curve), and headers. I was contemplating a weber 2 barrel versus a 4, maybe a single side draft on a modified stock intake(just for something different and good hood clearance). Any and all help would be great. -Jesse |

There are stock 1 barrel intakes that were aluminum. The best ones are the Feather Duster/Dart Lite cast aluminum intakes, after that you can grab the 'electron welded' models from any 1977-1987 1 barrel equipped truck. using an aluminum 1 barrel manifold over a cast iron manifold saves about 7-10 lbs (weighed out a set to see how much I'd lose when going to an iron super six setup...) -D.Idiot |

I am pretty sure they made aluminum Super Six (2bbl, Carter BBD) intakes as well. Questionable build quality on those too, I've heard. Lou |

I asked because I don't want to cut up a Super Six manifold, I plan on doing a single side draft Weber and I want to get rid of as much weight as posible. -Jesse |

I've seen an aluminum one piece 1 barrel with a '61 dated part #. Cecil |

I personally bought the aluminum 2bbl intake from mopar performance and went to prolinefuel.com and got the 32/36 weber for the car. Only thing now is to get the Lokar universal linkage for the car. |

Magnet will not stick to it. |
