OK. The online decoders aren't making sense for me.

I am trying to decode the VIN for my 76 D100 truck.

D14BB6S327283

The decoders for the 72-73 D series trucks make more sense than the 74-80 trucks, but I might be looking at bad info online. Can someone decode that for me? Thanks.

Closest I come is a '78 truck factory parts cattledog, and per its breakout your VIN decodes in a manner that appears to cash the reality check:

D14BB6S327283

D1 = Model: D100 or D150
4 = Body: Conventional cab w/Sweptline
B = GVW: 6,001 to 10,000 Lb
B = Engine type: 225 w/2bbl carb
6 = Model year: 1976
S = Build plant: Warren Truck № 1
327283 = Serial number

Very odd. I guess it really is a short wheelbase slant six powered "heavy duty" truck, then. That explains why the ride is so stiff. Thanks, Dan!
