Hello, I am looking to purchase a 1982 Ram Royal 150 pickup truck with a slant 6, but the transmission like slips or something when driving down the road and when the engine is reved up. Stopping and turning off, then restarting corrects the problem. I would love to buy this truck, but the tranny concerns me. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks S

Sounds like a trans pan full of clutch pack "flakes" which plug the filter as it runs or worn seals that leak after the ATF warms-up. Time to drop the pan and take a look. DD |
