I have an 87 D150 RWD with the A833 trans. My throw out bearing went out and I'm trying to find a replacement. This bearing came with the clutch kit that I purchased from NAPA and it has less than 1,000 miles on it which doesn't make me happy. I searched Rock Auto and they show several bearings but the dimensions note for a 1.250 bore. The bearing I took out has a bore of 1.167 bore. Am I missing something here? I will mic the input shaft tonight to get correct measurements. Where do y'all source your parts especially drive train parts. It seems to be getting more and more difficult to find parts for these vehicles.

Ooo, me too. The TOB in the 62 Valiant (833OD) has started to make some noise. I wonder if Brewers or Passon would have a good part?

Here is a list to choose from.

I am pretty sure I used this hays part fro. The list I provided the last time I had the trans out of the 69 dart. That was in 2016 and i had no problems.. that hays part # should fit your 833.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the info. I also looked and Brewer's Performance has them for $40. I plan to call them to talk specifics before ordering.

All the best,
Lou

The problem is that the Temp agency guy getting min wage to populate the database is not a parts guy so they don't know one vehicle from
the other and what crosses... The larger ID bearing is for the NP435 transmission and 11" clutch.... they don't know that there were 2 tranny options
and that some D-150's are one way or the other...

So what you have to do is change your vehicle input (the program or catalog won't do it for you...), so you say you have a 1978 Volare with the A-833 or A-230
manual transmission.. and it will have the correct TOB for the A-833OD in your truck...

That being said a number of companies have been importing those plastic body TOB units, which are junk...So I would trust Brewers or Passon to have the
good ones... the other option, if your TOB body is in good shape, is to order the bearing itself, and have a buddy with a shop press remove the old bearing
and install the replacement and off you go (one of the reasons I save all my old metal and OEM TOB units...)
