Is there anything that needs to be saved from a '66 Belve I taxi cab. 3 onda tree wirg /6. 2 of them in the salvage yard. Transmission bell housing is massive. They have drool tube heads. |

Do you have key(s) for it?! If so, save the locksets as a package. Taxi and fleet vehicles were set up to use the same key (ignition) in all locks and ignition(s). I'm with the others on the bell housing. It may be a conversion housing to use the small block 727 on the back of the slant. Roger |

I'll get pics tomorrow. I'll take my regular camera. I'm pulling home my '61 Plymouth 2dr HT parts car with a /6. |

I would grab the distributors if they are original and have the little oiler cup on the side of the distributor body. Chrome trim if it is in good shape, and bits in good condition, really. Remember, those vehicles are 54 years old. Hard to find interior pieces any more. |

Probably an 11" clutch and direct-drive starter on those cars. If so, grab the starters; people who need 'em ('60-'61 US cars, '60-'66 Canada cars, certain trucks and vans) tend to really need 'em. What do they have on them in the way of carburetors and air cleaners? And take lots of pics! |

While I also suspect it is the big clutch, I wonder what gearbox they used with it...? Probably the bigger V8 3 speed (A745?) |

Interesting replaceable element oil filter. And I see a cable throttle retrofit and a dual chamber master cylinder retrofit. |

Do they have any HD suspension or brake parts that might fit your 61? How about the rear axle to get away from the bolt-on flanges? |

11" clutch and direct-drive starter confirmed (and worth grabbing; don't forget the steel mount plate that goes between the starter and the bellhousing). Quote: Chrome trim if it is in good shape
On a bottom-of-the-line '66 Plymouth taxicab…what chrome trim, where? ![]() The dual master cylinder might be factory or dealer-installed equipment (see attached). The cable-type throttle is original equipment; the B- and C-body cars with Slant-6 engines got cable throttle for '62. The replaceable-elephant oil filter is a nifty piece; that was optional equipment for fleet cars. Too bad no oil-bath air cleaner (or any other kind) remaining.

The '61 and back 3 onda tree transmissions were non-synchroed. I wonder if this 3 onda tee was synchromeshed. Would it work on a '61 with the '61 linkage??? I know this car probably has a zillion miles. Why does it have drool tubes??? I know the Alternator is probably the high end version. |
