After 15 years I'm finally building a engine for my 71 Dart. My end goal is a reliable Foot brake bracket car that I can take for a ride on the street and get ice cream or roll up on the trailer and head to the strip. I have already aquired many parts and have forgotten about a few.
First up is this head I had it done about 15 years ago have a few questions that hopefully can be answered here

Light porting mostly just cleaned up the rough stuff
Manifold surface shaved .015 for cleanup and good seal
Milled .100
CC'd at 44CC'S
Bigger valves 1.45 EX 1.7 INT

What year was this head manufactured ?
Does this sound like the right amount of cc's for having .100 removed ?

That head is 67-74 vintage, with the "revised" combustion chamber. In the future, you can go to the home page (slantsix.org) and click the "articles" button, then the "Table listing Heads, Crank & Block variations" article. This head and other casting numbers are listed there.

0.100" mill will give you very close to 44 cc's.

I'm located in NW Pennsylvania about 90 mins North of Pittsburgh in a place called Oil City. You mentioned the head has a revised combustion chamber. Is this a good thing ?

That head cc with good port work can support a car into the 14-13 sec range depending on cam, car weight and other bolt ons.

I am in Irwin... about 1.5 hours from you if you ever need some help.

Some folks think the revised chamber is better in terms of burn. It is not clear if it makes more power or not, and is at least as good as any other head type.
