I have a brand new in the box cam kit from Direct Connection. The part number on the Box is 4286679 but inside the box is a long skinny box with a new cam in it with the part #4286678. Is anyone familiar with what I have ? Which number is the correct number for the cam ? What are the characteristics of this cam ?

Usually casting numbers are 1 number apart from Part Numbers. Usually.

One number is for the cam, the other for the whole kit.

Info I've collected on cams says that #4286679 is the 268 degree .476 lift grind.

Good midrange cam. Would not run it with less than 2400 RPM stall converter, and I would personally use 2800.
