Post subject: | Magnum Force Racing a-body Tubular control arms |
Hi All, I have had my eye on these Tubular Upper control arms for a long time now, they finally made their way to EBay, and 20percent less then the website list price. They are supposed to help camber and caster adjustment and high speed stability. They are a good clean design but it is not until you open the box you see "requires a cut and reweld of the factory body brace do to interference". A line like that will stop me in my tracks. No where was it listed on their site or the auction, everyone I talked to said "direct bolt-on". Well you guys are the real experts. Do you think cutting and rewelding a body brace for that will haunt me in the future. Im wondering if all this is worth the handling. They offered to exchange them for ones that fit my 72 Charger which really are "direct bolt-on", but my Scamp was supposed to be the future road racer. Please help. Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2425899087 |

If you are in a position to, I would try to get your money back, or get other useful parts (like brake parts or nice shocks). Those tubular guys weight almost as much as the stockers and don't do much for you, as far as I can tell. You can get a lot of caster and camber by using the MOOG problem solver bushings for about $30 total. On the other hand, a little cut and reweld (if they have good instructions) shouldn't hurt anything either. Thanks for pointing out this issue with their parts, as it might save someone hassle later. Just my two cents... Lou |

i have bought these instead. with the adjustment available, you can go crazy on your alighnment specs also. i bought these for my big block dart, and they appear to be of great quality and bill reilly designed these to fit stock frames. i personally bought the ones with the rod-ends on them but others have said the poly bushed ones work great on a street car too. plus he wont blow you off like magnum force will and will answer any questions you have. id buy anything this guy makes period! http://bigblockdart.com/Merchant2/merch ... e=upgrades. if you need to contact him, go to the main page and you can do so there. --chad |
