| Post subject: | Sharing thread content with non-members |
In a couple other forums I'm active in I'd like to share my build thread and other good stuff I find here. But when I send a link my buddies over there can't view the thread without creating a slantsix.org login. Is this by design? Is there some way to allow a non member to read a thread here? Most other forums allow non-member lurkers to read but not post or view images and attached files. |

Shouldn't be a problem. I see everything when I use a different browser (not logged in with that browser) Just can't reply from different browser |

Yeah, if I log out I can see some forums but not others.

The difficulty began when this board began assigning sessions (each with its own ID number). Prior to that, all you had to do was link to the thread or post you wanted, and it would work fine unless it was in "Social Corner", which is off-limits to anyone not logged in. Now the board assigns session numbers, links look like this: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=491630&sid=4e118139c30e69483b4b09955fd2112b#p491630 In order to share that link and not have the board demand a login, you have to go cut out the part that looks like sid=[a bunch of numbers and letters] so the link looks like this: http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=491630#p491630 It's a pain in the nuts and I hope either it can be put back the way it used to be (no session IDs) or there's a good reason why it has to be this way. |

It's still session-related. It forces me to log in to see that, too, even though I'm already logged in. Points back to some change having been made to the board's software, perhaps unintentionally, that has inflicted this session bulk wrap on all users.

So it looks like 3 sections are not available without logging in. In the board index under "Other" Social Corner Slixer's Gallery The slanted Network As far as I can tell it only affects those areas. Seems like Slixers Gallery and Slanted Network should be open to viewing by others. |

Yes I had the same problem too.. it seems social corner/ slixers gallery / slanted network are not shareable... that's why i had to copy and repost my Grüne Hölle documentation on another forum... so I could share it with others if I wanted to. Greg |

The two subforums have been shared out to Guests. Social corner is still locked down to members only. CJ |
