I need a Exhaust manifold for my '61 Dodge Seneca. I've located 1 in a '72 Dodge truck and the other 1 in a 70's Plymouth Are they both the same. Probably keep the intake and exhaust together since they were mated together. |

All Slant-6 exhaust manifolds will bolt up, but they're not all alike. Avoid the '70-'72 manifolds; they have a leak-prone, troublesome choke setup. It is increasingly uncommon to find a good used exhaust manifold. They're most of them old enough and used enough to be warped and/or cracked and/or with faulty heat riser valve, etc. New ones are available—shop carefully, they're not all good enough to be worth messing with. See here. Whatever manifold you wind up installing, it is very much worth your while to get the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions. All the new aftermarket manifolds are '73-up type, so use a № 1231 electric choke kit which will both fit the newer manifold and work correctly on the older-type carb. |

I am currently working with the Dorman new replacement--(part number#674-232) and mating it to a stock 1 bbl intake. It is generally okay but does require some additional work to install-specifically the manifold to pipe connection, the choke pocket and general tight clearance issue. It does come with some new mounting hardware as well and appears well built. My first installation was unsuccessful, gasket did not seal. Do not use the supplied gasket or the FelPro kit Ordered the Remflex gaskets and will try again. I am confident they will solve the vacuum leak. Listen to Dan's advise, whatever route you go, new or used, don't make my mistake, get the Remflex gasket. |

Dan you just like making my search more difficult. LOL The truck is a '72. The Plymouth car is a '70. I guess I'll pull the '66 Taxi cab manifold and see what it offers. |
