Is there a consensus best choice for the PCV hose and the crankcase breather hose? Both are exposed to fuel fumes but also steam and elevated temperature.

On my daily drivers, I use fuel hose because it is compatible with the oil vapors and is OK in the engine compartment. On the larger breather hose I just use cheap heater hose and change it out when it ages. For the smaller diameter emissions hose I use whatever is available in black, as the correct OEM material hoses are more difficult to find in my local auto parts stores. Just inspect them routinely and change them out when needed. I'm sure you will get other ideas from members on this Forum.

SAE J30R6, J30R7, or J30R8. Note that at least one major, reputable brand (Thermoid) markets their crankcase vent hose as "similar to J30R7", and that's fine. What's not fine is heater hose, vacuum hose, etc.
