I saw on .com that the Cox Bros. had a major crash at the Nats. For some reason the car got loose and smacked both walls hard. Car is supposed to be pretty bad but no one got hurt. Word is they are already planning on building another car.

Jim, John, and family, my deepest sympathy to you all. If I have anything in my pile of parts that will help, let me know. :D

Best wishes to all the Coxes, and I'm glad everyone apparently is OK. My deepest sympathies on the damage/loss. :(

I second Dennis' offer of parts - Let me know if you guys need anything! :)

That is a big bummer, I'm glad no one was hurt.....such a pretty car.... :( :(

Crashing racecars is the problem with going so fast...
I'm sure high nines with a 1.3 60 ft time and 130+ mph is quite a ride, I personally have never gone that fast, my best is low 11's and that can get pretty thrilling at times.

Sorry to hear this kind of news. Hope Jim was ok...race cars can be replaced not people.

Any chance they could save the chassis and just put on a new body?

If not maybe we will see a lighter, faster car the next time around.

PS I know where there is a tube chassis arrow that could be had. 8)

Ron and I want to pass along our best wishes to Team Cox Racing. Has anyone heard from Jim? Is he OK? It's a shame to loose such a beautiful car, not to mention all the work they have put into that car. But as someone else said, you can replace race cars. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim, John and their families. We wish them the very best.

Thanks everybody. John was driving and he is fine. We are just heartbroke! As for the frame we dont know yet. One of the struts is bent and it bent the frame rail were the A-arm atatches. We wont be able to tell much more till we can get the sheetmetal off of it and do some measuring. :(

Possum, the last piece of the puzzle for me is the block. It's getting bored now, and when I get it back it goes in for hot-tanking and cam bearings/freeze plugs. Then I start putting it back together.
