So to kill some time while I try to talk her dad into just letting me pull the engine (he insists that it should only be pulled if it's getting a complete overhaul :roll: ), I'm going ahead and installing the extra gauges.

So instead of using copper tubing like I had originally planned to connect the oil pressure gauge, I decided to use some 1/4" 150PSI max nylon tubing with stainless steel brading over it as a little insurance. Problem is, I can't find 1/4" sleeving anywhere, except in those combo kits made by Spectre (and I don't want to spend 40 bucks for a set of hoses that has four sizes I won't use). Anyone know where I could find some?

Or just use an electrical gauge and not worry about leaks or bursting hoses.... I'd never run oil or fuel into the passenger compartment.

I considered that, but opted for a mechanical gauge, since from what I read on here and from a couple other Mopar gearheads, the mechanical is more reliable.

I went to Autometer electric and they are dead on for accuracy. Tried the mechanical approach and was rewarded by hot oil being sprayed in the passenger compartment.....Dave

What kind of hose did you use? :shock:

I always ran my nylon tubing inside of vacuum hose. For my '66 I went all out and bought some braided hose. The #3 hose and the adapters were $27. Cheap peace of mind. :shock:

Where'd you get it from? If need be, I'll just go that route instead of making my own.

I got mine from "The Chicago Connection" 773/229-0655, but you should be able to find a hose dealer closer to you. :shock:
