Please list all the slant 6 mods that you can do easily and how you did it to make these Towers of Power machines speed down the highway!

First off, Tell us what kind of car, and what you want to use it for. Street only, street and strip, etc.

Also define "can do easily", can you handle a major tune-up, how about a valve adjustment?
Would you be OK with swapping the intake and exhaust manifolds or changing the camshaft inside the engine?

If you just want to "speed down the road", just put the pedal to the metal and wait a few minutes.
Sooner of later some cop will notice and give you a ticket.

Hey Lou & Pierre,

Where do you live at now? We ( myself, wife, pets, and /6 Barracuda) are moving to Redlands area in SoCal in Sept. I would love to see your megasquirt projects, and get some ideas.

Thanks,

Greg

Particularly when dealing with an engine with such a tiny displacement as a slant six, my theory has been that taking things away (i.e. weight, parasitic drag from accesorries, pumping losses) can be practically as much of a boon as bolting on speed parts. One thing I've done on my slant 6 project that defies my own logic is that I've retained air conditioning, but I even lightened it up by making many of my own aluminum parts and going to a rotary compressor.

Some of the other things I've done, many of them quite common: Lightweight jap starter. Lightweight/small dia rotor/high output jap alternator. Aluminum intake (Offy 4bbl). Carter aluminum 4bbl (which is practically half the weight of a Holley). Flex fan (I'm going to electric fans eventually). Removed heavy p/s pump, cast iron steering gear and associated brackets and installed an aluminum manual steering box. Removed underhood bracing (will eventually install fiberglass hood and fenders). Removed unnecessary splash guards and shields. Low viscosity synthetic oils and lubes. Stock cast pistons installed reversed on rods. Retained lightweight 7.25" rear end. Probably a few other things I forgot ;)
