First: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/supersix/article.htm Second, you probably will want to upgrade your camshaft, but I recommend getting the Super Six installed and dialed in right first. You should know that in 1972 the factory camshaft in the slant six got a slightly more aggressive grind, so you may want to grab the cam out of the car you get the Super Six out of. Another place to pick up alot of performance is upgrading the exhaust and porting the head, even installing bigger valves. Take it slow and one mod at a time so you can really get a feel of how your car performs and what you need to work on next. Search back through old posts on this site and on www.slantsix.com for a whole ton of info on choosing the proper camshaft and other performance considerations. Good luck! Reed |

Just get the Super Six going first, then do some exhaust up-grades. Once you ahve that stuff done, you can decide what the car needs next, like better brakes or anti-sway bars. DD |
