Okay after hours of old post reading and talking to my machinist the S B Ford valves seem to be the best choice the glitch is he doesn't think that valves should be cut more than .050-.060 these will be stainless valves dose that make a difference? and have any of you had problems from removing too much of the hardened tip? need opinions thanks Bruce J. |

I'm no expert; but, once you cut it down, can't you just put hardened lash caps on the valve? Wouldn't this do the same thing as the hardened end on the valve stem? |

SBF valves should not need the stems cut. They are the right length to start with. SB Chevy valves are .100" long though. ![]() |
