I have a 3 part history of the slant six written by the head engineer...from the concept till the end of production, that I found when I moved all the stuff in my living/dining room to do the floor(I guess I did get something more out of that job than just a pretty floor!LOL!) Anyhoo if someone has a scanner I will send it to you and it would make a great addition to the website(I will also be posting this to the other great slant six sites[both .org and .com]).

Sounds interesting. I have a few high quality scanners and Adobe Photoshop for making them web ready. What are the possibilities of the web sites mentioned hosting the pictures or making a .pdf available for download?

Hate to say that all the SSCOA stuff is copyrighted, we would have to get permission from Jack to post it.

Or do you have the original Bill Weertman manuscript?

Is it worth trying to get permission from SSCOA? I can't imagine them saying "No". Then again, I don't know Jack. :D I would think that articles like the one mentioned would be good for the /6 community to be able to peruse. I didn't know what a /6 was until I bought my Dart 18 months ago. Now I'm very glad I have one.

I have dartsport.us that I own and I'd happily put a pdf and a jpg of each page would rather the pdf be the whole thing I have 5gb of transfer a month so I have plenty (I'd hope) Let me know if you'd like me to put it up on the website. Also I'm basically wanting to make that an informative page for all Darts/ Dart Sports so if you have technical articals pictures anything. Just let me know as I'd like to start building the site up. It has nothing now but would like to get info so I can start putting the info up.
Thanks,
Jared

If we can get permission to copy the articles, then we're good to go. What is the best way to go about getting permission from Jack?

You should send Jack a carefully worded letter.
I would clearly list the title of the article you would "like permission to reproduce the article for our SL6 group" and I would not use the word internet or website.
(Jack has never "warmed-up" the the internet.)

Try to get your permission back in writing so send him an SASE
I know what some of you are thinking but no, I am not the right person to contact Jack on this issue.
If someone can get permission, we can post this article here and I will offer to help with lay-out and inhancements.

Another suggestion is to sit down and rewrite the story, making "improvments and additions" as you key it in. Again, I can help with photos, lay-out, content, etc. At that point it becomes the author's work. Is anyone out there fast with the keyboard or have a text scanner / converter?

Any decent scanner should have OCR (optical character recognition) which should make the whole process a piece of cake.
