I enjoyed being a part of this years Award Banquet.

I was a little surprised that the subject of call outs was brought up.
And it was good to have a little discussion on the matter.

I like the idea of call outs for the test and tune or time trial periods we have at the track.
It would build some interest, and perhaps spark some extra participation at the track.

But for our eliminations, I don't think that is in the best interests of our series.

Just my opinion.

It is basically challenging someone to a race.

As Rob said, you call them out for a race.
You think you can beat so and so and he or she has been talking trash.
So you challenge them to a race, pink slips, cash, first born, or just bragging rights.
You settle the question on the track.

In our races it would have done away with a strictly random drawing in the 1st round to see who you raced.

Kinda like Cookie... only with runnin’ cars & such.... :P

I personally like the 1st round call outs idea.
BUT I also wouldn't push the issue if the majority is against the idea. I will race as much as I can with or without callouts.

It does keep the ladder from being strictly random.
It also keeps the guys involved in the 1st round call out from getting a first round bye, so in some ways would help the rest of the random ladder racers.

I think it would be fun but like I said, I don't really care either way.

If they get the numbers wrong that could be a hoot. They will prolly get bested by a 'braker anyway.
