1983 Dodge D150, slant6, fourth speed overdrive transmission. It calls for an 11" flywheel, but takes a 10". I'm two years into a new clutch kit, resurfaced flywheel. The clutch was giving me difficulty going into reverse, going forward heard a big bang and lost the clutch completely. I haven't started the repair yet, any thoughts. As I said 10" clutch kit all was working fine, can the 11" be used. Very limited on pressure plate.

No your truck should use the smaller 10" clutch with the OD transmission.

Ive seen where the aftermarket redesigns things, they put the pressure plate retainer bolts within the circle of the pressure plate instead of a flange outside of the "bowl" so to speak, and you can get a larger clutch in the same flywheel. seems like the difference was 1/2" not a full inch but it has been a while since I have done a clutch. I know my Wrangler was that way.... and I think there was a footnote in the catalog about the bigger one replaces the smaller one.....

If it has a OD in it then I am pretty sure all he can use is the 10" heavy duty clutch and PP. The big truck, flywheel and clutch were never available with the OD "car" transmission.
