Your avatar says "'65 Valiant Signet AL1-P", which is a Canadian model designation. That's a Dart-shaped Valiant, the 111"-wheelbase car that's like a U.S. Dart GT, but with Valiant badging and some mechanical differences mostly in the electrical system. Likewise, your engine stamping is Canadian. I think if you look closer you might see it says AL-HP. A: 1965 model L: Valiant (111" wheelbase) HP: High-performance engine option (225 instead of 170) The rest of it will be date/serial stuff. |

That makes sense beyond that, if it is a HP motor it would or could have double roller timing chain? Did it use same cover? Is there a difference visually between the heave duty oil pump? What about compression? Could the numbers be missing from being decked? So many ? Owe you ....thanks high octane all its life. |

Glad to help. In this case "HP" just means a 225 instead of the standard-equipment 170. It doesn't mean a special heavy-duty 225. |
