Post subject: | Engine Rebuild |
Greetings It's been a while since I've been on here and I'm very frustrated with my truck.I'm having issues with the hydraulic clutch master and slave cylinder, had to pull the tranny for the third time and replace throw out bearing which was almost brand new and had very low miles on it. I also had to replace the internal pump on the fuel injection system I put on it. Damn ethanol gas ate the pump up. Mostly my fault for not starting it more often. Needless to say I have not driven the truck in almost two years and I'm trying to figure out what to do,SELL IT OR FIX IT! I'm in Apex,North Carolina and I'm looking for someone to rebuild the engine for me. Just a basic rebuild with maybe some minor tweeks. The cost of this rebuild will determine if I sell or keep the truck. So I'm looking for suggestions of a capable person preferably in North Carolina to do my rebuild. Anyway PLEASE let me know ASAP I need to make a decision soon. You can email me at goncampn@hotmail.com or call/text at 919-924-9672 Thanks Augie Dog (Alan Osborne) |

yup. I have had issue with newer throw out bearings over the past 5-7 years too. every time I have used a "perfection" brand clutch kit. Buy a LuK next time. Throw out bearings used to be available as a separate part, haven't tried to buy one in alot of years. what shape is the truck in overall??? that would be my #1 determining factor. Why are you thinking it needs a rebuild? and the more you "have" done (and pay the resultant labor charge) the less feasible such repairs become. and a "rebuilt engine" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. That, plus prevailing pricing in your area, plus "who you get to do the job" can mean pricing will go from mild to wild. why are you thinking it needs a rebuild? Would a swap with a good used engine work? |
