The next race for the 2022 season will be at The Legendary Farmington Dragway (Too Tough to Tame since 1963) in Mocksville, NC the weekend of 22-23 July (Fri/Sat). Friday July 22nd Gates open at 5pm and testing starts at 6pm. Gate entry fee to race is $10. We will be running with Test N Tune, Motorcycles, and Street Class. Saturday July 23rd Gates open at 8am on the track 10am! Gate entry fee to race is $15. We will be running with their Points Series Racers and the Classic Gear Jammers. Seymour has donated for 2022 purses, so he and I will provide the purse money. Payouts: Winner - $100 Runner Up - $50 Semis - $25 (Same Payout for each day) Since the gate entry fee is about $10-20 less than most other events, we can collect an additional amount from racers for more pay outs if there is a consesus. http://www.farmingtondragway.com Roll Call: Rob Simmons (just watchin' & coordinatin' & schtuff) Rick Covalt (if more than just he and I show up) Lou Madsen (If he has a car ready and all is OK with his new family) Mark & Regenia Charapich C'mon folks... this ain't lookin' real good... we need some more folks to Come out and RUN with the Slants!!! |

I'd really like to come to some of these races, whether as a spectator, or possibly even maybe provide some "pit crew" assistance/ but I'm in "prison".... It's costing me nearly $25/day just in fuel to go to work, let alone any maintenance on my vehicles or any other running around I need to do/ or any that I would like to.... but I'm stuck here for the time being/ either til my pay doubles, as the price of fuel has in the last year and a few months/ or someone "in a position of control" does something to pop this bubble... for the 1st time ever, the town I live in has broken $5/gallon for the "cheap" stuff.... I am so pissed, there is absolutely NO REASON for this ripoff, gouging, screwing... |

We are about 6 weeks out from the Farmington race with only three tentative racers... Don't make me find a Slant 6 car to race and wind up taking all that purse money home with me... (I s'pose if I do, it'll just make the Clay City purse that much bigger...) Bueller...? Bueller...? Bueller...? |

There has to be a lot more sign up for me to come. There are plenty of locals down that way. They may be sleeping like my Mason Dixon locals were! Honestly, I am struggling to justify 70 gallons of gas at $5+/gallon , a room , entry....etc. Plus I have been off work for a week and a half with my hip / back issues. Let's hope to hear from a bunch more. |

Lou and the Charapiches are "more than just you and Rob"...I ain't sayin',... I'm just sayin'...  I get it. Looks like this will be our worst year in the history of the series. C'est la vie! I s'pose this'd be a good year to walk away with the championship if'n sumbudy just showed up to a couple races... Hey Rick, check out my recent post in Social Corner about it being pricey these days... That'll make ya feel better about 70 gallons...

It is not just racing, there isn't much going on here on the board either. We need some excitement to kick in from somewhere.

Agreed. I wish I had more time/energy to stir the pot, but my new family is a high priority. I am working on some cool Slant hardware, and should have more fun incarnations to race soon... Maybe I can help Brian get his Duster running this summer too. Hope to see you all at Farmington! Lou |
