![]() If you look closely, he has 3 bolts on the bottom, and another group of 3 up the side, and the inspection cover is round...I'll bet he has 4 more bolts on the other side like in my picture. I would say he has a coveted 8 1/4" rear end like the one under my car. does it still have the tag? What ratio does it say your have? Gears and sure-grip units are easy to get for that thing, but don't do too many 'bullitt' chases around corners it does still have the 'c-lock' axle shafts. Good item to have. -D.Idiot FYI- if it's a 7 1/4" the inspection cover is oddly haxagonal shaped and has 9 bolts, if it's out of a post 1980 car, it will have 10 bolts.... |

It looks just like the one in the picture. SO that is for sure the 8.25!? I didnt see any tags, but it was dark when I took the picture. I was wondering if the 8.25 comes in the cars equiped with the HD brake option? Thanks again Shawn here is a different angle <img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/87613/dusterrear2.jpg" width=600 height=401> |

Measure around the axle tubes, the 8 1/4, 8 3/4 use 3" diameter tubes or 9.42" around. Not sure how big the 7 1/4" are but they would be significantly smaller. |

I'm just about 100% sure that's not a 7 1/4. I'm almost as sure it IS an 8 1/4. Not that rare-my '74 slant six duster has one. |
