Trying to remove my distributor for service: 63 valiant slant six... Per the factory manual, I removed the hold down clamp bolt, but the thing won't move... Does the clamp also have to come off as well? Is it attached to the distributor? (I can't see where it clamps against the distributor, so it's not readily apparent how it holds the dist in place) ... even with the bolt out, neither the clamp or the distributor will move.... |

ok so I DID get it out. cleaned around the base and tapped it slightly; it finally came loose and is now on my bench. |

Cool. Yeah sometimes they can be a royal pain. The worst trouble I ever had getting a distributor out, was on a 350 olds rocket engine my mom used to have |

Pay attention to the distributor O-rings. Also find tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this post. |
