Anyone know anything about Darts power steering having problems? I lose fluid quite rapidly. It's actually getting worse. When I first got the car the steering column was loose and would kinda move around where it shouldn't... I was wondering if that might have anything to do with it. |

Check: Hoses, Top of steering gear where some o-rings reside, input shaft seal (where the column goes in the gear), sector shaft seal (underneath, above the Pitman arm) and the pump itself. Helps if you clean everything up at the car wash so you can see where its coming from. "DW" |

If the pump leaks, that an easy bolt in replacement, you can also look at the hoses and see if any are loose or leak. If you see a nice wet patch coming out of your steering box, well...bingo.... THe $$$ item is the steering box, but power steering boxes are easier to come-by than the manual ones. You can also jack it up and have a friend roll the wheel lock-to-lock while you watch the assembly and see if something 'squirts' or drips or wobbles. -D.Idiot |
