What is the best option for connecting my fuel pump to the carb on my 63 Valiant (slant 6), other than a hard (and hard to find) line? Been trying to bend a new line from the auto parts store to fit, but without much luck |

Make a hard line, but not steel. Use the copper/nickel alloy line. It is easy to bend. https://www.cunifer.com/ It is available at many auto parts stores. |

Bending and flaring hard lines is an art. Even the copper-nickel lines have their issues - you can do bigger sweeping bends by hand but on tighter bends they are more kink prone then steel Auto parts short length lines are a tougher material and harder to bend even with a bender. You need the stuff that comes in a coil, usually 10-20ft or longer. Kind of an investment if you’re only ever going to do one line but still fairly cheap. What’s wrong with your original line? If you don’t want to use an entire length of rubber to replace it you may be able to mend the broken part with a short piece of rubber. Or if it’s kinked part way you can replace the shorter piece with rubber. |

Thanks gentlemen. I got the line bent, not pretty, but it does follow the original routing(I think): had I read this post before I bent the line, I would have gone with the option suggested. (the original piece was garbage). hopefully I won't have vapor lock issues... |
