Good luck with the sale.

It seems to have a good start.

I thought the suburbans were all the 3 seat models?

I bet it will do well on BaT.

The last one sold on there from a guy about 15 minutes from me. He bought it off Facebook Mpl. in New York State and finished it up, then sold it on to a guy in Tennessee.
It was Mint Julep Green, 1962 Model and Had a Lancer Dash in it, and No Heater Box / core.

I never saw the car in person, but I did get some spare '62 Valiant Bits from him after the sale.

No, "Suburban" just meant "station wagon". The 3rd seat was optional for '60 and '61.

Got it thanks.

Were the '62 Model (Station Wagons) also labeled as Suburban without the 3rd seat as an option?

Thanks. I've gotten a lot of help from this site and the folks here, only seemed fair to give them first crack at this project. Thanks for the link: I remember that green machine. Seemed like a decent auction.

I can't recall "Suburban" being mentioned in '62, but I admit to being tunnel-vision focused on the '60 only.

So, the auction on BaT ran.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1960- ... h-valiant/

I was disappointed with the end result considering all the effort and $$$ I dumped into it over the years. Maybe some of you will have a different perspective, but I sure am glad I stopped myself at a certain point. I should have sold it then, right after all the paint and bodywork was done. As it stood, the phrase “I took a bath on it” would be a big understatement.

Takeaway is to always, always start with the best example you can afford. And, if you can’t afford a good example, be patient and WAIT! With patience, one will eventually come along.

Lesson (hopefully) learned.

Too bad about the overall result, but congratulations with getting it out there to someone and out of your life. Sometimes that is the best thing. It looks like a very nice mid-completion project to me and hopefully the new owner will be happy with it. I was sorely tempted, but am overfull for sure...
