The #43 SDRA Dragster took the win at the Annual (and last Annual!) Nostalgia Nationals at Bandimere Speedway last Sunday evening. The car was slow due to the 9500ft Density Altitude, running around 11.20 in the 1/4 mile. We beat out some really strong in-lines and a couple flat heads. The best times we could muster was an 11.002 early Saturday evening. The Bandimere track is a sight to see, and the staff are the best people I've had the pleasure of racing with. The VDRA group there in Denver are great guys and gals. They have some cool In-Line and Flat Head dragsters as well as a good field of Gassers and Nostalgia Eliminator cars. The #43 went out in round 2 of NE, but not before we took out the points leading OldiSkool Altered.

The coolest part of the whole trip was being in winners circle with my dad on my right and my son on my left. Three generations gett'n it done on the Mountain!

I just thought everyone would like to see the the Slant can still get the job done.

Congrats.
Why the last Nostalgia Nationals? Track closing?

Awesome!

Congrats Jeff and Family!

Bandimiere is closing/relocating to somewhere else less close to population sprawl as I understand it.

Charrlie: Yes, after 65 years and three generations running the track, they are giving way for housing development. The Bandimere family is in the process of securing property near the Denver Airport to build a new track. Word is they plan to build a road course as well as the drag strip. They will be very successful in their operations as they have the best run track in the nation. But it won't be the same as the drag strip on the side of a mountain.

Always sad to see a track close. At least they are planning to open a new track in the area. I hope they succeed. It is not always possible to get the proper permits, for one reason or another.

Huge Slanted Congrats, Jeff! Great to hear of your big win. Yeah, that is a rare moment to have 3 generations in a winner's circle like that.

Hope to see you before too long...

Lou

Congratulations on winning the last big inline-flathead meet out there. 11.002 is a pretty impressive time under those conditions. I've been out to that track several times but never made a run down it. Saw Bob Glidden's Arrow lose to a Hemi Volare in 1979.
