Okay guys, just a FYI, I’m definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to wiring. I’ve installed an after market harness in my A100 and am a bit stumped on the ignition circuits. I’ve drawn up a schematic of all the components I’m using and have drawn in the connections I believe to be correct. Each component is depicted as it actually is ie: a 1 wire alternator, a 2 pin ballast, a 3 pin neutral safety switch, a 4 pin ECU, a 4 pin starter relay, and a 6 pin ignition switch. I’ve also replaced the ammeter w/a volt gauge. Can someone draw in the missing connections for me? It would surely help a lot. Thanks in advance,Steve |

Well, I can tell you right now that the red wire is wrong. If you connect it as shown, you'll have a run-away starter motor the moment you bolt it to the grounded block. Does that one-wire alternator have an internal regulator? The volt gauge is simple......the terminal marked "grd" should be wired to chassis ground, and the "+" terminal should get wired to a SWITCHED power source. If you wire it to a constant source, the gauge itself will drain the battery over a few days. "ECU" is mis-labeled.....it should be "ICU", for ignition control, not engine control. Modern cars, the "ECU" is the entire car's main computer. And is that a "GND" on the ignition switch? Roger.....getting a little nit-picky |

If you don't have one, it'd be a wise choice to get a FSM. Good Luck FSM= Factory Service Manual |
