Hello hive mind, I'm hoping I can get some thoughts as I take on a radiator replacement. Specifically, what do you recommend I do, or keep in mind as I take this on? I plan on getting a Champion radiator, with overflow tank. Comes with a 13lb cap and, so it says, a transmission cooler (do I need a transmission cooler?). I'm planning on a new water pump, all the hoses, thermostat. I'm assuming I'll stick with the existing fan setup, unless you advise another plan. I don't intend to soup this thing up, just to keep it going and hopefully make it better.... Is there anything else you'd recommend whilst things are apart? Anything I should be cautious of? BTW this is going into a 67 D100, stock everything. I appreciate your ideas - thanks tons in advance. Cheers - Jason |

That depends.....is it an auto trans? If so, then yes, there's a cooler in the bottom of the radiator.Cheers - Jason Roger |

Champion rad is great. If you have auto trans, then get the cooler, yes. Lou |

I think almost all of the Champion Radiators have a trans cooler installed. If you don't have a automatic trans, just leave the plugs in the cooler connections. |
