Hi, I am in Australia. I have a friend in California with a 1964 Barracuda. Her son blew up the engine. She is having difficulty sourcing one, so I decided to help. Chrysler built cars in Australia from 1962 to 1980, so there is a few slant 6s getting around over here. I have one and are rebuilding it for her. Can anyone help me as to which oil pan the slant 6s in the 1964 Barracudas used? In particular, I need to know the measurement from the front edge of the sump, at the timing cover, to the start of the lower pan section. Can anyone help please?

You're building a Slant-6 engine in Australia for a '64 Barracuda which is in California, and…then…you're going to ship the engine halfway round the planet?

Mate, not to asperse your friendship and all, but California is very likely Earth's biggest current-day repository of Slant-6 cars and parts. It will be an order of magnitude easier and less costly for your friend to source their parts and refurbishments locally; the only reason they've had difficulty finding them is because they haven't looked and asked in the right places, such as, um, right here. And, that way they'll avoid any number of oops-that-part's-not-the-same…oops-I-guess-left/right-hand-drive-makes-a-difference…oops…oops…oops.

The one marked 60-66 in the picture should be what your barracuda had.

Other things you'll need for a 64 car motor will be the correct front cover/damper for timing mark placement if they're worried about originality, and the 64 will have a small pilot ring on the crank. A later crank will work, but they will need either a spacer ring for the converter or a late flywheel if it's a stick.
