Post subject:  Engine identification help please

Hi,
I'm a new member, and if I am doing anything against the rules please tell me.

I recently bought a 1981 Ram D150 with a slant-six, and while reviewing my "before" pictures (I haven't done anything to have "after" pictures) I noticed that my engine has sparkplug tubes. So, not the original engine.

The block casting number is 2806830-8. I searched back to earlier posts and found that it is a 1968-70 casting and that the "-8" just means that it is the eighth revision of the casting.

Stamped into the deck is "HW225". So, it's a 225.

My question is, What does "HW" mean?

Thanks in advance,
Andrewmcq
