| Post subject: | Conversion from feedback ignition system to standard electro |
Well, my daily driver Ford van finally sprang so many oil and radiator fluid leaks that i had to park it until I can give it some serious attention. In the meantime I had to get a replacment daily driver, and I stumbled across a rather nice 81 Cordoba with a 225. Yay! The downside is this car has a feedback Holley 6145 with a worn out throttle shaft bushing that leaks gas when it is hot, and it has the odd ignition system that has a dual pickup distributor and all the sensors, but no computer to control spark. My question is can I convert form the dual pickup distributor to the single pickup style easily? There seems to be a complete standard ignition system installed on the car but there are the two pickup leads coming out of the distributor. Would it just be a matter of swapping distribuors and removing the extra wiring? Thanks! Reed |
