Using the factory A - B method: Do I set the ride height to the A Body spec 2-1/2", + or - 1/8" side to side? or B body 1-7/8", +/- 1/8" side to side? |

That's quite high. I would probably shoot for 1.5-2" myself, but I like a lower car. Seems like my cars are around 1", but I'll have to check. If you're looking for a quick answer, do 1.75" and you can adjust a bit (~ 0.5") up or down without changing alignment much. When I ran bumpsteer on my 64 Dart about 12 yrs ago, it was excellent. Almost nothing over a 2-3" range, IIRC. That car has always felt great almost no matter where you set it. If you have a good shop with a trolley lift, they can check yours too. Lou |

Not sure what you are saying. Was this some type of test for bumpsteer?I don't know if the shop has a trolley lift. It's new to me, recommended by a guy that has his old Mopars lined up by them. He asked me if I wanted him to set the ride height... which I took as a good sign. I told him I would set it, and he would have a mess to straighten out from all the new parts. He said with the adjustable upper control arms and strut rods it wouldn't be too bad to work on. Previously I had set the front end to the B Body spec at 1-7/8th inches before. We tend to have some rather rough roads around here, and I like a little extra suspension travel. Although with 0.940" torsion bars the car doesn't nose dive under breaking, or keel over on turns. |

If you like the 1 7/8" spec, then go with that. It won't hurt a thing. Bumpsteer can be measured by checking toe changes while raising the car from the frame while hooked up to the alignment machine. Lou |
