I am trying to find where to spend my money for when I do my turbo build. I have been looking into the slant, and am impressed with its reliability, but am worried about it only having 4 mains does the forged crank help make up for it? I am used to working with 2.3 fords which have 5mains and the block and crank are super strong so maybe I am just parranoid. I would really like to be able to have the shortblock handle 350-400+rwhp at say 5500-6000 rpm, to do this I will need to push alot of boost down the little motor, but what needs to be done? From what I hear the stock rods are pretty strong, so I might just go through them, with ARP bolts a polish and some shot peening. As for the crank its forged and looks to be pretty stout, but doesnt have alot of support with the 4 mains. Do you think it will require any additional work? As for beefing the block I am thinking of adding main studds and adding a little block fill just to stiffen it up a little, hopefully this will be enough. Please let me know of any other areas that I should check into.
Thanks
Shawn

You can take some weight off the rotating assembly and have everything rebalanced, that will help.
An aftermarket dampener is also a good idea.
