I haven't lost track of the plan to make voltage regulators, but for several reasons that is going to need a fairly large order to get production up and running. So in the meantime (and to raise money to get the voltage regulators into production), I have started making 3D print on demand interior parts. Well, I've been CADing them up and sending them to a print farm, but you get the idea. I was thinking of reverse engineering some of the plastic bits off my '66 Dart and making reproductions. Are there any parts that are on anyone's wish list here? Armrests (these crack a lot), dash vents, A-pillar trim, etc? |

Depending on the cost, I'd be in for a set of dash vents. |

Great, that was one of the first things that came to mind since they tend to crack. These will need to be resin or nylon based, with a somewhat limited color pallet. I'll see what the cost comes out to, but it should be pretty reasonable. I'll also see if I can add some external features to make it easier to secure heater hose to them. |

I thought the dash vents were available? |

They are; I've seen them priced around $60 a set, so there may be room for improvement in pricing. |

Pricing the vents in something that isn't likely to melt from the defrost heat may put them at the same price as other options out there, although I'll see if I have room for improvement. However, this does give me the chance to change a few things - such as making the vents fit 2.25" heater hose to match the heater core. |

With the arm rests I would suggest going with a more solid construction/mounting flange. They always make a big indent on the door panel. If you do make them I don't know if they originally were available for the backseat without the ashtray but I could really go for a set without them. Of course my gold interior is probably not the best color to focus on lol. |

The print farm has 14 colors available and gold is one of them. If you do make them I don't know if they originally were available for the backseat without the ashtray but I could really go for a set without them. Of course my gold interior is probably not the best color to focus on lol. The nice thing about 3D printing is that I can make the flange solid and make the part completely hollow above it, with no concerns about how you'd pull it out of the mold. And it looks like I've found a way to get the dash vents to a competitive price while maintaining high temperature material. |

Some notes on how the overall process is going. |

Just a thought if you want to be playing around with the 3d print. It isn't interior related....but do you know anyone that does or have any interest in making the headlight bezels for the front fenders on the 64-66 barrcudas/valiants? I was looking at prices on the repops and they are pricey. Personally a plastic version would likely sell decent for the monochrome owners that would black them out or color match them. Plastic would be a good material for the people that actually drive their cars since the anodized aluminum is easily damaged by impact and the elements. About 10 years ago I looked into making myself a silicone mold for these bezels. I was considering making them out of clear plastic. Then I would imbed an LED strip as a DRL strip and paint the non lighted sections silver. I never got off of the thinking stages on that one. Would be a cool look with a 10" circular DRL at the extreme edge of the fender. |

Ok, the dash vents are now live! They are $30 each for resin print, or $18 for more economical but rubbery TPU. I am also offering them in a choice of stock style 2.5" heater hose, or 2.25" heater hose. The reason for the smaller size option is that the previous owner of my Dart took the fitting size at the heater core to be the correct hose size, bought 2 1/4" hose, and tried to connect it to the vents as best they could. I can't be the only one where the previous owner did that. I'll be listing the restoration parts here. The headlight bezels are an interesting idea. The print farm I'm working with can do metal printing as well as plastic, although I suspect most buyers are not going to have a budget that will cover 3D printed stainless. |

Matt are these "rubbery" ones less likely to be broken? Can they be painted? I'm not sure what the best choice would be for me. I am assuming the harder ones are more like the factory ones? |

The bezels are available as a repo right now in stamped aluminum like the originals at 150+ usd. A correct appearance stainless unit that was more durable for the same price point might sell "ok" or it might not. But a plastic unit for a reasonable price would gain some traction, of course make sure this isn't the only place it is advertised. I have been out of the loop for so long I don't even know which mopar sites have the most online activity. Fabo used to be active but I haven't posted there in 10 years lol. |

Correct, the resin ones are closer to factory. The rubber ones are going to be a lot harder to break but may be a bit flexy. They should take to urethane paint very well. |
