I know the crank flange is different after 67. Is there a flex plate/torque converter that will go from a '72 ish crank to a '65 904?

I do have the 3 freeze plug motor. I'm thinking about either rebuilding that one, provided that's possible (can be bored and no cracks)

or just swapping the '65 crank into the '72 block.

It's been a while since I've built one of these. Getting ready to retire and thought I get started getting my son's '65 Barracuda back on the road. The transmission was freshly rebuild when the motor quit 5 or 6 years ago.

72 flex plate works, get the spacer for the crank register and you're good to go.

Charlie_S used to keep the spacers.

68 and newer flexplate, crank adapter, your 65 torque converter, and 904 trans.
Get the adapter from Greg Ondayko. Member on this site.

Thanks Charlie. I"m finally slowing down a bit and I'm REALLY hoping to get to some races next year. I'm building a slant for my son's '65 Barracuda so he can come with me.

Thanks Charrlie for Sending the Adaptor Ring Traffic my way.
