Post subject:  Engine Identification.

Hello all.

I've begun the tear down of my 65 D100 and I've made the executive decision to keep my /6 and do some mods to it. This forum seems like the place to get the right information to help along my journey.

First thing I need to start with is identification. The block and heads I have on this truck aren't original, so i'd like to see exactly what year/type /6 I'm looking at and then get your opinions.

Is there a website that can help me find this information once I locate the block and heads numbers? Figured i'd asked before I start searching the net!

Hi Scott. Just go to the main page on this site and click on "Articals". There is an artical on block id and head id. Good stuff. 8)

There was another recent thread with some info.

It's time to get the block numbers and match them up to the engine type and year.

I'll try to run out and get some numbers this weekend. hopefully it will be a good one to build with.

You print your bathroom reading? Try a laptop and wireless network.... ;)

Post subject:  Targeting the wrong market

The area I work in is always trying to achieve the "paperless office"
I see we have been targeting the wrong market. We should be doing
bathroom reading material to achieve the "paperless bathroom".

Maybe one of those tablet notebooks could be made splash proof -
it could be loaded with captured multimedia and put in the bathroom
magazine rack ...

Natural extrapolation of removing other paper items should lead to
interesting test cases (and probably more lousy 7up commercials)

Please excuse the bathroom humor - I just couldn't help myself.

Post subject:  Reading

If i carried my laptop into the bathroom, my wife would go nuts... She hates all the time i spend on my web site and my various computer games.. LOL I think that would be the final straw with her..

Yeah...non-erasable peripherals...old stuff! Remember what happened to cards and paper tape - they turned them all into toilet paper!
