Car Model: 1962 Lancer 770
Hi everyone,

Sadly I'm having to sell my 1962 Dodge Lancer 770. I've owned this car since 2004 and bought it with the intention to modify it and rebuild it. Much was done to it, but I have barely driven it and need to find a new home for it where someone will appreciate it. Long list of upgrades listed below, and more I haven't listed. I've included a photo gallery https://ibb.co/album/cbVV7B and hoped that someone in the Slant Six community would like this before I post on other conventional places.

It is a nice driver car, and I have many additional parts. Included with the sale are a spare Ford 8" pumpkin with 2.79 gears, a carpet kit, and the factory steering wheel. Also has brand new tires in 245/25/17.

Car is located in Redwood City, CA

Built in 1961 and 1962 only, the Lancer was the up-scale version of the Plymouth Valiant, and came equipped with the 3.7L "Slant Six" engine. The engine is tilted at a 30 degree angle, which allowed for these compacts to have a lower hood line than other cars of its day. The 770 was the luxury model in the line, complete with hubcaps, extra chrome, a two field alternator and other upgrades. It also came with a push-button 3 speed automatic transmission which was an interesting feature soon to be replaced with a column or floor shifter.

This particular Lancer was owned by the same family in Ohio from 1962-2004, where it spent much of its life in a garage not being driven. It still wears its original paint, interior and only has 35,000 miles on the car.

Car has been modified significantly from its original state to upgrade front and rear suspension, converting to BBP brakes, Ford 8” rear end with lsd, 225 engine block, HEI electronic ignition and lots more. It is a very low miles car in nice driver condition.

Engine:
225 rebuilt with shaved head, port polish, hardened seats, new valve train
252 cam
Offy 2x1 with Carter BBS
Dutra Duals exhaust
Flow master 2” exhaust
Mopar electronic distributor
HEI conversion
Clifford valve cover
Road tube converted to pcv
Upgraded radiator
7 blade cooling fan
High flow oil pump

Suspension & Drivetrain
Lowered front and rear
Rebuilt front end
Moog offset bushings
Boxed lower control arms
New ball joints, heavy duty tie rods, strut rods
Swaybar tabs added
Rear HD springs lowered
.870 Torsion bars
Ford 8” Rear end with 3.55 Strange gears and trak lock (LSD), includes stock 2.79 pumpkin
17” Mustang wheels with 245/45/17 tires (new)

Brakes
Wilwood disc brakes with BBP 11.75 rotors
10” Ford rear drums
Mopar Performance dual master cylinder
Wilwood brake proportioning valve

Additional changes
Oil pressure gauge
Tachometer
3rd brake light
DRL and running lights
LED bulb upgrades
Headlight converted to Hella with relay

I should have mentioned it does not include my dog Athena, though she's pictured on the back seat. She will miss the car atleast as much as I will! :P

This will be a killer car for someone! Nice work, Menko. Sad I cannot buy it, but that's only because I have too many pretty nice but busted Slant cars that already need attention.

Thanks all, I am happy to say the car is sold and ready for a new adventure. I would be sad if I didn't know it was going to someone who will appreciate it!
